Maybe the most interesting orchestra i joined so far was NSG 2007. The Dutch String Guild - Nederlands Strijker's Gilde - meets every summer for a hot and intensive rehearsal week.
26 string players in Westernieland. In the middle of nowhere. The sea just half a mile away. We stayed at a camping farm in the farest outskirts of the beautiful country of the Netherlands. A landscape so charming.
Deeply dark night skies with trillions of stars......
In the middle of nowhere. The sea just half a mile away. A crazy, but lovely finnish conductor who was able to form a string orchestra of very good quality. We played 5 concerts all over the country including A'dam, Utrecht and Groningen.
It was a pleasure to make aquaintance with everyone of the colleague's. What a lovely, joyful folks. Enjoy the impressions i want to share with all of you. Rehearsals took place everyday for 5-6 hours. A real challenge!! I didn't play cello so intensively for years!! Lovely!!!
Everything was 'lekker gezellig'. Dutch mentality is sooo fine in those moments. Enjoy the impressions i want to share with all of you.
Here a link so you can get an idea about this jolly week. ; )
